The prestigious BAKH Vitoria, the official sports center of Baskonia and Deportivo Alavés, partnered with Zentralmedia to completely renew the audio systems across several critical areas of the facility. The project delivered a comprehensive audio infrastructure transformation using EAW technologies.
Overview & Challenge
Covering more than 38,000 square meters dedicated to wellness, athletics, and recreation, BAKH is one of Northern Spain’s leading sports centers. With 500 instructor-led classes per month and a large fitness area exceeding 1,200 square meters, the facility required a high-performance audio solution capable of delivering clear, powerful, and consistent sound coverage to support its intense and dynamic activity schedule.
Solution
Working in close collaboration with the technical team at BAKH Vitoria, Zentralmedia’s engineering team developed a custom EAW audio solution tailored to the unique acoustic requirements of each area of the facility, including cycling, fitness, and cardio zones. This approach ensured balanced and consistent sound coverage throughout all spaces, supporting the center’s diverse programming.
The installed systems consist of a range of EAW products known for their performance and flexibility. In high-energy areas such as the fitness hall, 24 MKC120 point-source loudspeakers were deployed, while 15 MKC50 two-way coaxial loudspeakers were selected to provide coverage in more focused areas. In addition, one SB150zP subwoofer was installed in the spinning studio to deliver tight, controlled low-frequency performance. To ensure even sound distribution across larger areas, 30 CIS400 White in-ceiling loudspeakers were installed.
Result
The upgraded audio system has significantly enhanced both acoustic quality and overall user experience at BAKH Vitoria. EAW’s high-performance loudspeakers were integrated seamlessly into the facility without compromising aesthetics, while instructor-led classes now deliver a dynamic and engaging audio experience that increases participant motivation.
