EAW designs and manufactures professional loudspeaker systems that help deliver powerful, consistent sound to large audiences, even in the most acoustically challenging environments. Customers who choose EAW products are able to differentiate their services from other providers and achieve success in the professional audio market.
With a 45-year legacy of technical innovation and engineering leadership, Eastern Acoustic Works has played a key role in shaping the modern professional loudspeaker industry.
EAW was founded in 1978 by Kenneth Berger and Kenton Forsythe, whose passion for live sound and the industry drove early investment in both brand and technology. In the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, EAW’s MK, FR, and KF Series loudspeaker systems became defining products in the market. By moving away from consumer-style cabinets built with hi-fi or cinema drivers and introducing purpose-designed, fully engineered professional integrated systems, EAW rose to become the world’s leading loudspeaker brand. By the late 1990s, the iconic KF850 was everywhere. During this period, EAW further expanded its success by developing technologies that were far ahead of their time, such as ADAPTive, which enabled software-defined loudspeaker coverage.
In 2000, EAW was acquired by a group of investment bankers and merged with several other audio brands. While this provided access to broader resources, the company experienced a gradual decline as its focus became diluted. Many critical functions were moved outside the company, and key product-level decisions began to be made elsewhere.
In September 2018, EAW was acquired by the RCF Group under the leadership of Arturo Vicari, who has dedicated his career to building successful professional loudspeaker companies. Following this acquisition, EAW regained its sense of purpose and spirit, with a renewed ambition to become North America’s number one loudspeaker brand.

This is where the magic begins. Our team brainstorms ideas and concepts.
Once we have a solid concept in place, we move on to the development stage.
Quality is important to us, which is why we perform rigorous testing at every stage of the development.
Finally, it's time to launch the product and share it with the world. But our work doesn't stop there.
